As you may know, Dr. Phil, or Phil McGraw, is one of Hollywood’s most highly paid stars. In 2019, the television star earned $95 million in annual income.

Originally a protégé of Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil now hosts a popular syndicated talk show. There is an upfront fee for the show, plus a large percentage of advertising revenue and money from product placement, which McGraw gets from the show itself. Dr. Phil, as you may have guessed, enjoys a lavish lifestyle.

Up On The Market

Dr. Phil put his Southern California mansion on the market in early January 2020. Though Dr. Phil is not a well-known celebrity in the tabloids, this listing has gone viral nonetheless.

Internet jokesters couldn’t resist skewering Dr. Phil and his strange mansion. Images and tweets of the estate flooded social media, saying exactly what everyone was thinking.

They probably spent quite a few mornings here as well, especially during the summer. But what you see from the outside doesn’t tell the whole story about this house…

The phrase “eclectic finishes” was used to describe the interior of the house in the real estate listing, and the listing agents couldn’t have picked a more apt descriptor of the atmosphere that exists there. As soon as you step inside the 6,170 square foot interiors, you may start to wonder if you were somehow transported into a different dimension through the power of magic.

The McGraw family had hoped that selling the house would not present any difficulties; however, the real estate listing went viral. Not because of the breathtaking scenery or the enormous amount of living space; in fact, it wasn’t even because of the mansion’s asking price of $5.75 million.

The mansion appears to have all the makings of the set for a hip-hop music video, including a stunning pool that would be suitable for any celebrity pool party. Who on earth wouldn’t want something like this in their house? The home’s outward appearance of “normalcy” does not, however, end there…

Stunning Front Garden

Even the whole front garden of the mansion, for the most part, shouts out the following to anyone who passes by: “Hello, I am a perfectly normal mansion located in Beverly Hills. I am ready to be purchased right now.”

However, the moment you set foot inside that, you immediately become aware that there is a slight deviation from the norm. There are many peculiar elements in the mansion, such as a room with a pool table that has large claws and a grand staircase that has enormous vines wrapped around it. Everything seems a little out of this world…

What Kind Of Fountain Is That?

When you tilt your head to the left ever-so-slightly, it is easy to see that Jordan’s architectural choices began to rapidly develop flaws almost immediately. The subsequent fountain appears to be completely out of place.

What possibly could have prompted Jordan to make such an irrational choice regarding his house? At first glance, the concept of a reptilian character that throws up water appears to be completely bonkers. Jordan actually has a very good reason for his choice, despite the fact that it doesn’t seem to fit in at all…

Own Fantasy World

Jordan has in the past provided reporters with an exclusive tour of the one-of-a-kind interior that was inspired by Tim Burton and has undergone some minor renovations since then. He admitted that one of his goals was to build his own fantasy world.

“The whole place, the idea is kind of Tim Burton threw up on a canvas, and it turned into a house,” he said. Visitors are greeted by a fountain in the shape of a serpent, which is a copy of the fountain that appears at the beginning of the popular Halloween classic A Nightmare Before Christmas. “Unfortunately, Jack Skeleton hasn’t crawled out of it yet,” Jordan jokingly said.

The Closer You Look, The Weirder It Seems

At first glance, the living room appears to be a completely normal living room. At first glance, this appears to be a nice living room; however, upon careful scrutiny, you realize that nothing matches, and the more you look, the stranger the room appears to become.

The living room is a chaotic mishmash of mismatched furniture, paintings, and figurines of various animals that surround the fireplace. When you purchase the property, you will have the option of keeping these one-of-a-kind pieces, as stated in the listing.

The Bar

As soon as you step into the great room, you’ll notice that the atmosphere has taken a turn for the creepier. There is a chandelier that has the appearance of having been taken directly from the castle of a wicked queen. The crystal chandelier, which is located in the home’s wet bar and is surrounded by a checkered black and white dome, serves as the focal point of the room for reasons that are beyond our comprehension.

It is only natural for our gaze to be drawn to the winding staircase that is covered in leafy vines. The cherry on top is the fact that the backrests of the bar stools are shaped like antlers.

Atypical Chandelier

The following photograph offers a better representation of how the chandelier appears in real life. It is a sight to behold, especially because it appears to be drop-like shapers shooting up to the ceiling.

In addition, the abundance of neon art pieces and bright ornaments drove home the point that Jordan was going for a surreal motif that was reminiscent of something that might have appeared in a film directed by Tim Burton. It appears that no matter which direction you look in this area, the room will always give the impression of being stranger and stranger…

Black And White Ceiling

At first sight, the black and white ceiling appears to be an error; more specifically, it appears that when the McGraw family purchased the property, no one had the motivation or time to repaint the room.

However, if you look closely, you’ll notice that the ceiling is painted black and white, and the entranceway is designed to look like the rabbit hole that Alice from Alice in Wonderland goes through. This is an additional tribute to Tim Burton, who directed the movie that was released in 2010.

Chic Fireplace

Our opinion is that this second living room, which was characterized on the listing as “the fireplace,” is a pretty stylish room. The atmosphere is very postmodern and art deco, which appeals to us. It appears that the interior designer had so many ideas that they decided to cram them all into this one room, and for some reason, it worked out in their favor.

There is no room for anything else to be hung on these walls, so if the person who buys this property already has some works of art, they will need to find another location to hang them if they intend to display them.

Art Dealer

Twitter swiftly became the primary medium through which the McGraws’ home was subjected to ridicule. A lot of people made comments about the random art that was displayed all throughout the house, and some of them claimed that an art dealer had seen this guy coming from a mile away and had prepared himself.

Second Living Room

If this had been our dining room, we would most likely spend the rest of our lives eating out at different restaurants. To begin, let’s take a look at the light fixture. It is eerie enough to make us feel sick to our stomachs, and the dimly lit rooms don’t help matters any. To say the least, this space does not exude an air of friendliness; the carpet is giving us motion sickness, and the chairs are simply too heavy.

If you do choose to eat in this room, you will be sitting at the table with an orange bear figurine that will keep staring at you the entire time you are eating. This will be the cherry on top of an already unpleasant experience.

Game Room

You wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Jordan’s home features a game room; more specifically, a billiard room. You might think that a room like this would be straightforward and uncomplicated; after all, all you really need is a straightforward pool table and a few pictures to hang on the walls, and you’re good to go. Not at all, if the opinion of this interior designer is anything to go by.

The billiard table has been decked out to match the floors, and the royal blue floor has been specifically designed to accommodate each of the table’s legs in its own unique way. Confused?

The Table’s Legs

The billiard room was yet another space in the house that was largely responsible for the internet’s obsession with the property. People couldn’t stop tweeting about how outrageous the pool table’s legs looked, and it was impossible for them to stop.

Others commented on how it appeared as though someone had spilled milk near the pool table. One user of Twitter wrote that the room appeared as though they were going for a “cracked ice look on a budget.” What at first glance appeared to be a straightforward real estate listing became the most popular story on the internet.

Prior The Renovation

The appearance of McGraw’s game room was a little bit distinct before the installation of the royal blue floors and the billiard table. The room was painted with a matte black finish, making it almost impossible to recognize; however, as you can see, the lighting fixture was able to survive the renovation.

In addition, there were three pinball machines and a floating mini-golf court in the house, which together created the ideal environment for a recording artist to unwind and relax in between takes of their recordings. When his friends are in need of a place to crash, the young artist frequently invites them to share his house with him.

Nevertheless, the creepy-looking treehouse in the far corner of the room is most likely the element that grabs one’s attention the most.

Jordan’s Sphynx Cat

To tell you the truth, the treehouse that Jordan’s Sphynx cat had looked much more luxurious than anything else that we have ever had in our possession. As can be seen, the bedsheets and the carpet in both of these rooms are exactly the same.

The only things that serve to differentiate these two stunning bedrooms are the hues on the walls and the general atmosphere of each space. It would appear that Jordan enjoyed a bedroom that was more traditional while he allowed his guests to use the space decorated in the Tim Burton style. In which of these rooms would you prefer to sleep?

All-Black Kitchen

The kitchen underwent a major renovation at the same time as the rest of the house, and it is safe to say that we are relieved that it did. It appeared as though they were going for an all-black-everything kind of vibe in the old kitchen, which had an overall dark theme to it.

The thought of preparing meals in an atmosphere that is so gloomy and unsettling does not sound appetizing at all, even though we speculate that the intention was to make it look slick and chic. The renovations made the space feel much more open, and it also makes the room appear much larger and more inviting than it did before.

Daniel Miller was one of the first people who were quick to make some crazy observations about the interior of the strange mansion where Dr. Phil originally settled.
